Core Values

Partnering With The Holy Spirit

Jesus was the ultimate disciple-maker and left us His example to follow. Yet, Jesus insisted that the Holy Spirit would be a greater resource. We believe that to fulfill our mission, we must do so in partnership with the Holy Spirit. In order to develop this powerful partnership, we must abide in Christ, spending regular time in prayer and fasting. As we do this, the Holy Spirit will lead us to those He wants us to disciple and show us how to go about it (John 16:7-15, Gal 5:25, Act 16:6-10).

God’s Word As Our Guide

We believe that God’s Word is the foundation and final authority of all we believe and practice. God’s Word is our instruction manual, faultless, without error, and timeless. The Bible guides us toward our identity, mission, and values; and fosters spiritual growth and maturity. Scripture empowers and equips us to navigate challenges, discern truth, and uphold core principles in an ever-changing world. Thus, it is our aim to train each disciple to know and put into practice God’s Word (2 Tim 2:15, 2 Tim 3:14-17, 2 Pet 1:20-21).

Being Intentionally Relational

We believe that discipleship happens in the context of a relational environment. That begins with our relationship with God himself and extends to our relationships with people. It is within this environment that God brings about real change in our lives. Jesus modeled this for us throughout His ministry in His approach to the Twelve. The goal for these relationships is being known in such a way that we are challenged, encouraged, and developed. This requires time, transparency, and focus. Forming these types of relationships will help us to shepherd each other toward spiritual maturity as we partner with God and His Word (Matt 4:19, John 13:35, Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-35).

Functioning As A Healthy Team

God’s Word describes the church as the body of Christ, made up of many members, united together for the purpose of building of the Kingdom. We believe in the power of the local church as God’s instrument to reach a lost world. We are called to work together in unity to fulfill our mission, with each person contributing as they are gifted. Every ministry within the church must operate with this same team mindset, sharing ownership of our mission and providing opportunities for disciples to discover, develop, and use their unique gifts (John 17:22-23, 1 Cor 12:27, Luke 10:1).

Taking Jesus To Lost People

Jesus said that He came to “seek and save the lost.” This is the very heart of Jesus’ mission, and the commission He gave to His disciples to make disciples. Just like Jesus, we want everyone to hear and respond to the gospel. While it is something we prioritize as a church, it is the responsibility of every believer. Our ministries exist to support followers of Jesus as they work to fulfill this purpose (Luke 19:10, Matt 28:18-20).

Building God’s Kingdom

We value the growth of God’s Kingdom globally not just at Judson Road. Therefore, at Judson Road, we are going to do our part to be multiplier for the Kingdom. We have a multiplication mindset. Every person, every ministry, every church growing exponentially. This focus motivates us to collaborate with other churches, para-church groups, and missionaries in our community and abroad in fulfilling our mission (Matt 28:18-20, 1 Cor 12:12, Phil 1:18).

Equipping the Next Generation

At our core, we believe that the Next Generation is the best investment we could possibly make. In Scripture we see the command and example to pass on God’s promises from generation to generation and we take that seriously. At Judson Road, this is reflected in our focus on Kids, Student, and Young Adult ministries. This is also evident in our intentional leadership development and discipleship. We know that Judson Road is not just for those who are here, but for who will come next. As a church body, we desire to leave this part of the Kingdom better than we found it, with a firm foundation for generation after generation (Deut 4:9, Psalm 78:1-4, Eph 4:11-13, 2 Tim 2:2).

Our Beliefs

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.

  • God and Creation

God exists and in His love created the universe and everything in it. He created human beings to love and enjoy. (Isaiah 40:26)

  • God and People

Every person is created in God's image and has tremendous worth, but we have fallen short of God's ideal for our lives. The Bible calls this sin and our sin separates us from God. We stand in desperate need of making peace with him. (Romans 3:23; 6:23; Isaiah 59:2)

  • Jesus

Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God, who died to pay for our sins and rose from the dead to give us the hope of eternal life. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; John 3:16)

  • The Bible

The Bible is the inspired and reliable Word of God. God communicates His will to us through it. The Bible is the perfect source of truth for what we believe, the guide for how we are to live, and it is supercharged with relevance for the twenty-first century. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105)

  • Hope

Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust in Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16)

  • Salvation

Those who accept Christ receive God's grace when they turn away from sinful living or self-rule, confess their faith in Jesus, and are baptized into Him. (Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38)

  • The Holy Spirit

Those who respond to Christ in this way receive forgiveness of sins and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, the supernatural, spiritual presence of Christ. He is the guarantee that we have become a child of God and that we have received eternal life. He also supplies us with the strength to remain faithful to the end, a necessary condition for salvation. (Romans 8:11-17; 1 John 5:11; Revelation 2:26)

  • Life Abundant

Living as a Christ follower is the most exciting and satisfying life we could ever find! (John 10:10; 1 Peter 1:8-9)
